An Academic Community

2013 awards last dayOur Cypress motto is “a good place to grow.”  We strive for our students to have a well-rounded experience in general studies and to have opportunities to explore areas of their special interest.  Cypress School measures its success in a variety of ways.  Each year students in grades 3-8 take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, a nationally recognized standardized test.  For the last fifteen years Cypress class average composite scores have consistently been in the top 25 percentile range (75-99 %).
However, we feel that a more significant measure of our school success is found in tracking the progress of our graduates.  Cypress grads are often on honor rolls in high school, and are equipped to enter advanced placement or International Baccalaureate programs. A high percentage of Cypress grads attend college and university and often receive scholarships.  Tracking our students in recent years shows Cypress grads enrolled in the following schools:

PUBLIC COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES:

  • Central WA University
  • Harvard University
  • Humboldt State, CA
  • University of WA
  • USC, CA
  • Western WA University
  • Community Colleges in our area

PRIVATE CHRISTIAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES:

  • Andrews University, MI
  • Canadian University College, Alberta
  • La Sierra University, CA
  • Loma Linda University, CA
  • Pacific Union College, CA
  • Seattle Pacific University
  • Southern Adventist University, TN
  • Walla Walla University, WA

We are proud of our academic track record.  Our graduates continually demonstrate that Cypress Adventist School has indeed been successful in helping its students to discover their unique talents, preparing them to make a positive difference in their world.  Our graduates continue to let us know that Cypress Adventist School is “a good place to grow.”
